Following President Biden’s State of the Union Address in January, NTIA announced that it would take a strict approach to enforcing Build America, Buy America requirements for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. Now we’re ready to provide more specifics.

Charter Communications is a leading connectivity company and cable operator providing broadband, voice, video, and mobile services under the brand name Spectrum to more than 32 million customers across 41 states.

Verizon and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) have collective bargaining agreements in place that, among other things, provide for high quality training programs. In particular, Labor and Management committees cooperate and provide input on personal and career development, training and curriculum, program recommendations, program evaluation, and employee participation.

Middle mile networks are the unsung heroes of Internet connectivity – the workhorses that carry large amounts of data over long distances.  Think of the Internet as pipes: The plumbing that serves a skyscraper with hundreds or thousands of people is much bigger than the pipe that comes into a single-family home. If you used that little pipe for the skyscraper, you couldn't possibly meet the needs of all residents.
